Aelita, is a world-renowned recording star. Called by the press "chanteuse extraordinaire", "masterful artist", and "skillful entertainer", she began singing at the age of five while secretly listening to Ella Fitzgerald records on the other side of the Iron Curtain (in her native Latvia, then part of the USSR). She launched her professional singing career at the age of 12, performing Astrid Gilberto bossa nova tunes in small cafes. Her first big break came when legendary conductor Yuri Saulsky, head of "Vio Jazz66" (famous Moscow Big Band) invited Aelita to headline his 20-city concert tour. She was accompanied by a 19-piece orchestra and vocal group. In addition to voice, Aelita formally studied violin and piano, later graduating from New York City University.
Since then, Aelita has completed two world tours singing in 16 languages. Praised as the "Queen of Cabaret" and "international singing sensation", she has performed everywhere -- from the opening ceremony of the Football World Cup in Seoul, South Korea to the Ritz in London and the Waldorf Astoria in New York, from Paris to Moscow, from Miami to Jerusalem, from the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City to the White House in Washington, DC... many of her performances have been standing room only and she has entertained dignitaries including Bill Clinton, Kofi Annan, Henry Kissinger and Aristotle Onassis, to name a few.
"Aelita is the only Latvian-born singer who has made a career in Big Band/Swing circles in Canada and the USA. Aelita has performed together with the biggest names in Jazz - with such incredibles as Sarah Vaughan, Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, and Lionel Hampton."

INTERNATIONAL SINGING STAR AELITA TO PERFORM AT BETH TORAH SYNAGOGUE FOR HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS
Only once, in great while do audiences have an opportunity to enjoy such a unique talent as Aelita, internationally known the world over as "The Queen of Cabaret, " singing songs from her exciting repertoire, "Songs From the Heart," for survivors of the Holocaust and their descendants. “Café Europa” is a social event that takes place three to four times a year, for those living in Miami-Dade County. Her many fans fall in love with her warmth, charm and personality making her one of the world's greatest performers, who will win the hearts of any audience. Aelita has completed two world tours, singing in 16 different languages, and sang at the opening of the World Cup, in Seoul, Korea, winning the title of "The Best Big Band Vocalist" in 2002. The preservation of Yiddish music has become a lifelong quest for Aelita, who truly sings from the heart.
Aelita, born and raised in Latvia, now a resident of Hollywood, Florida, is a recording artist and has recently released two new recordings, "Cabaret a la Russe," based on her 2009 Broadway appearance at the Laurie Beechman Theatre and "Songs My Father Taught Me," a compilation of Jewish music combined with "American Pop a la Yiddish," dedicated to the memory of her beloved father. She has raised more than seven million dollars for the State of Israel alone, as well funds for many other charities. (The preservation of Yiddish music is a lifelong quest for Aelita, a chanteuse extraordinaire and a masterful artist, who is a second generation of Holocaust survivors herself).
